The unit is stuck in the down position, drive gear broke, chain in tack. How do you raise the compactor press? I have tried turning the chain with the plastic gear removed and nothing moves. Trash compactor ram goes down correctly but will not come back up. Motor binds and hums but does not reverse. Everything is free and non binding and I can run it up by hand.

Our trash compactor has stopped compacting. The motor runs, but the gear does not drive the rod. My husband took the compactor apart, and it seems to be that the motor cannot overcome friction of the gear even after cleaning and lubrication. Suggestions, please?

I purchased Drive Gear Kit from your company. Do you have a picture how it goes on? It was broken in pieces when I took the bottom off the compactor.

My compacter has a broken large drive gear. I question what made it break? Could the directioal switch be bad or isthere a lower limit switch? What is the test proceedure to check or should i just replace the gears and see how it works? However I don't want to keep replacing gears. Thank you. Allan

I need a large gear at the bottom of my compactor. The gear is broken. The center hole is shaped like a stop sign not round like the one you display.
