The drum will not turn over when started.
Answer Hello Della. If the unit hums, and does not turn over, you will need to order and replace the dryer motor 2200376 in the unit.
When I turn it on, it starts making a scraping noise. It sounds like if it were scraping the side walls of the dryer. Like if there was loose change inside as well.
Answer Hi Mary, you need to check your rear drum support rollers 37001042, the drum glides 37001298, and the drum felt seal 37001132. If you order the seal, be sure to also order the adhesive used to attach it. Hope this helps!
Dryer when first stated squeales very badly then stops sqealing after a few minutes? Any Ideas?
Answer Hello Michael. You will need to check and see if the rollers 37001042 are tight, and if the idler pulley Y54414 is bad on the unit. If so, these will cause the issue you are having. Turn the rollers and see if they are tight, also, turn the pulley and see if it is worn or tight.
How many rollers are on my model?
Answer Hello Jim,
This unit only has two drum rollers 37001042. The front of the drum is supported on glides which are made on the front bulkhead 503756W.
My dryer is making a VERY loud squeaking sound. What can it be and what do I need to fix it?
Answer Angiehope, A high pitched squealing/squeaking noise is usually due to a dry, worn drum roller bearing 37001042 or an idler pulley, if it has a brass insert 37001287 and you want to consider a new belt. You'll need to raise the top, remove the front panel and front bulkhead, and remove the drum to access these components. Good Luck and Thanks
My dryer sounds like rats are squealing, what could that be?
Answer Hello Mary. Based on the information, it sounds like the idler pulley 37001287 and the rollers 37001042 are bad and will need to be replaced. Hope this helps.
What would make the dryer sound like you are drying shoes in it?
Answer Hello Lisa. You will need to check the rear bearing and the front felt glides. Also check the rollers, if you model has them, and see if they are bad. We will need your model number to help you more with this. Hope this helps. http://www.appliancepartspros.com/modelnumber_locator.aspx
