Maytag modle sde4606ayw. Drum is not turning properly &clumps cloths together. If we lessen the load to about 1/2 the norm it will work i have already replaced the belt. Should i replace only the rear drum rollers or is there a kit for axel & roller replacement all @ once?
Also I see there is a front roller should it be replaced as well?
Answer Dudley, the rollers aren't going to be the issue, unless they make nosie, Youmamy want to check, clean, and lubriacte the shaft and roller bearings. You do want to check the tumbler RPM, place a piece of tape on the end of one of the baffles, select air dry/fluff and hold the door switch closed and start the dryer The drum should rotate at 50 RPM(+/- 2) If the RPM is in range, you'll need to review the loading instructions for the dryer, and / or install a Baffle Kit 12002559 to reduce the bunching up of the articles.
My kenmore clothes dryer making a squeaking noise. How can I fix this , what parts have to be replaced . thanks
The most common problem with squeaking noise on dryers is the rollers being bad. You will want to check the rear drum rollers and check the idler pulley to make sure that they are not dragging.
My dryer is thumping. Is there one or two rollers in this unit?
Answer Hello Carl,
There are four W10314173 in this model. Two in the front and two in the rear. Don't forget to check the idler pulley 279640 while you're in there. Model #11097588210
Dryer squeaking, took apart. Think it is idler pulley. Should I replace all 4 drum rollers as well since it is disassembled now? Is there a kit, or do I need to purchase all individually? Thanks
Answer Steve, Remove the rollers W10314173 and check the roller shafts W10359272 for "bluing" and "heavy" scratches in the metal. If all appears OK, clean up the shafts and the roller bearing with some emory cloth and penetrating oil. use a couple of drops of turbine oil TJ93240 on each shaft and roller, install the new idler bracket assembly W10547290 and belt 661570 and you'll be fine for a few more years.
My machine is squeaking loudly. I suspect the roller(s) are the cause. Do I need to replace all of them? Is there a kit?
Answer KK, you would probably want to use 4392067 dryer repir kit, It'll have everything you'll need, except some high speed turbine oil TJ93240 to lubricate the shafts and rollers. Thanks
Is the Rear Drum roller kit AP3098345 the correct kit for my machine? OR for my machine do I need to purchase all the parts seperately?
Answer Rob, the drum roller kit 349241T is not listed for your model. The manufacturer however, does offer a dryer repair kit that has the rollers, tri rings, belt, and idler pulley available as part number 4392067. Thanks!
