I can hear the motor on the dryer but the tumbler is not working. Do I need to replace the belt? Is there anything else I need to buy with the belt?
Answer Hello Jackie. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like you are correct. You will need to replace the belt 40111201. You will need to check and make sure the idler pulley and rollers are good on the machine. Hope this helps.
How do you replace the dryer belt tension assembly? Does the belt come with this assembly?
Answer Hello Willrepair. First disconnect the power to the unit. You will need to release the tabs in the front corners to raise the top of the dryer. Once the top is raised, you will need to remove the front panel. Then you can remove the belt and remove the drum from the unit. Now you can access the idler pulley. Remove the spring and clip and slide the old pulley off the shaft. Reinstall in reverse order. If you need the belt 40111201, you will need to order it separately. Here is a link to help you with the belt install. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/dryer-repair/25860-dryer-belt-diagrams.html
When running drys good, but very noisy and annoying squeaking noise. I think it is coming from the belt tension pulley assembly.
Answer Hello James. If the pulley is wore, then you will need to replace it. Also, it would be a good idea to change the rollers 37001042 as well. Hope this helps.
When running, drys good, but noise when drum is turning. It is an on and off vibration.
Answer Hello Charlie. Check and make sure there is no lint built up in the blower wheel. If the wheel is clean, check the rollers 37001042 and make sure they are ok. Hope this helps.
