Dose this switch control the heat?

Answer Hello Steve. No, if the door switch 3406107 is bad, the dryer does not run. It does not control the heat of the unit.
I have a whirlpool dryer the light comes on an make a clicking sound but nothing else happens. The drum does not move.

Answer Hello Rob. You will need to test the thermal fuse 3392519 and the door switch 3406107. They should read closed for continuity with the door closed for the door switch. If either is bad, the dryer will be dead except the light. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Answer Hi Robert. I would use the digital capacitor Tester / Volt/ohm meter part # TJMA-DM1. Remove the back and check the blower housing thermal fuse that commonly opens under a vent restriction and the outside vent cap kept open with lint on the hinges. If this fuse part # 3392519 is open, it will not run. Thank You.

Answer Hello John. Remove the two screws under the lint filter. Then use a flat blade putty or butter knife and release the clips under the front corners and lift up the top panel. Now you can access and replace the door switch 3406107. Hope this helps.

Answer Hi Theresa. There are locking tabs that are folded onto the connectors where both wire connectors connect together. These tabs are carefully released by a small screwdriver or a pick tool. These are for safety. There are screws that are on the inside of the inner (opened) door that connect the switch to the inner panel. The new door switch is part # 3406107. Hope this helps. Thank you.
