The dryer was running and clicked off about 1 hour later I put towels in and it will not start. When you push the start button nothing happens no click no nothing. If you push the button in the door the light goes off. Could it be the start button or the Door switch or the Thermal fuse?
Billie K for Model Number W10088771 Amana Electric dryer
Answer Billie, It could be a fault in any of the components you mentioned. Without a model number, it's difficult to assist you. You may want to start at the thermal fuse, then the door switch, based on your post description. The thermal fuse should have a "closed" circuit at all times and is usually located on the blower housing. You'll also need to check the door switch circuit for a"closed" circuit between the "com" and "NC" terminals with the plunger pressed in, you could have a faulty door switch or wiring issue. If you need more assistance, please attach a model number to your post. Thanks
Hey having problems. Dryer will not come on. I can open the door and find the door switch. Can push inward and light goes off release and light comes on. So what can be wrong?
Richard for Model Number 110.64672400
Answer Hello Richard. If the door switch is good in the unit, you will need to test the thermal fuse 3392519 and make sure it is good in the unit. It should read closed for continuity.
Dryer will only run if the start switch is held on. The heater works and the tumble rotate too. Is the start switch bad?
Dan for Model Number LTE5243DQA
Answer Hello Dan. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the motor W10448901 is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit. It does not sound like the start switch is the issue.
Initially my dryer will not start when I push the start button. After numerous attempts it will attempt to start, but cuts off before the drum begins to turn. The flame ignites and shuts off atfer a few seconds.
Marvin for Model Number 11072954100
Answer Hi Marvin. The thermal fuse part # 3390719 needs to be closed that is mounted on the blower housing. Then make sure the vent is completely clear and not kinked. Vent cap/hood is working properly. I would use a volt/ohm meter part # TJMA-DM1 to assist. you in your diagnosis. Dryer Gas Coils:Check the coils 279834 and see if they test good. You can test the coils using a multi-meter TJMA-DM1. The two prong coil will read 1,000-1,300 ohms, and the three prong coil will read 1,300-1,400 ohms across prongs 1&2, and 500-600 ohms across prongs 1&3. It may be that the coils are weak and once started then they open and shut down. Thank You.
When I try to start my dryer all it does make a buzz sound and will not start.

Louie for Model Number IED4400VQ1
Answer Hello Louie. Test the door switch 3406107 and the thermal fuse 3392519 and make sure they read closed for continuity with the door closed. If not, it will prevent the unit from running. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
Dryer only runs when the start switch is held down. No heat, just tumble
I replaced the motor, and the thermal switch, along with new belt, and rollers. Where do I look now? The appliance store?
John for Model Number 110.62882101
Answer Hi John. Do you have access to the wiring diagram inside the controls? Part # isLIT3406660. There are 2 - power relays part # is 3405281. One is poss. for the run circuit and the other one is for the heating circuit once the motor is at 60% run speed. Thank you.
