HOW TO MAKE SURE THE TIMER IS WORKING,WHEN I DO PUSH THE START BUTTON I GET NOTHING,OR DOES IT HAVE A THERMAL FUSE
Answer Dan, This dryer, being an electric dryer, does have a thermal fuse 3392519 located on the blower housing. If the fuse opens due to excessive heat, etc. the motor will not start or run. There is also a thermal fuse mounted on the heater assembly, but it only affects the heater.Start by checking the thermal fuse for a "closed" circuit with a multi meter.
The push to start button doesn't start the dryer. The heater element comes on and off when I manually turn it. I don't have a light in the dryer when I open the dryer door, just a black lever like thing on the top part when closing the door clicks.
Answer Hello Jose,
If the dryer starts when you hit the start switch then turns off when you release the switch then it would be a bad centrifugal switch on the motor and motor would need to be replaced. If it does nothing then you would want to do a continuity test on the thermal fuse to make sure that it is good. If no continuity then replace the thermal fuse.
When press start botton only makes a buzzer sound. Nothing else works. No tumbling. Circuit breaker turned off then back on.
Pulled electrical plug then reinstalled.
need help thanks Rob
Answer Hello Rob. Opent he door and tape light switch closed. Then turn the tub by hand as you press the start button, and see if the drum starts to spin. If so, the motor is bad and will need to be replaced in the unit.
Is this switch 3977456 a momentary contact or n.o.?
Answer Hello Jerry,
The answer to your question is yes. This is a momentary switch that is closed momentarily when you push the button. When you release it, it opens again.
Dryer will not come on at all. Push the strt button, and nothing. Light is on inside dryer when door is opened, but close the door and push start button and nothing.Used it last night and it worked fine. Whgat could be wrong????????
Answer Grace, You could have an issue with the door switch 3406107. The switch allows power to the drum light when the door is open (orange wire), when the door is closed power is applied to the start switch and other components(blue wire) to run the dryer. But your most likely issue is an "open" thermal fuse 3392519 located on the blower housing. If this fuse opens,(usually due to a overheat situation) the Power to the motor is eliminated, and the dryer won't start or run. Thanks
Why wont my dryer start? Nothing is working the light will not even come on.
Answer Hello David. You need to check the thermal fuse 3392519 and make sure it is good. Also, check the wires on the terminal block and make sure they are not burnt.
The dryer was running and clicked off about 1 hour later I put towels in and it will not start. When you push the start button nothing happens no click no nothing. If you push the button in the door the light goes off. Could it be the start button or the Door switch or the Thermal fuse?
Answer Billie, It could be a fault in any of the components you mentioned. Without a model number, it's difficult to assist you. You may want to start at the thermal fuse, then the door switch, based on your post description. The thermal fuse should have a "closed" circuit at all times and is usually located on the blower housing. You'll also need to check the door switch circuit for a"closed" circuit between the "com" and "NC" terminals with the plunger pressed in, you could have a faulty door switch or wiring issue. If you need more assistance, please attach a model number to your post. Thanks
