How do I install dryer repair kit? Can I do it myself? How much of dryer do I have to take apart? From back? Dryer is making squeeking noise and then shuts off. Motor still working but must have alot of strain. Noise started a month ago and lst night it just stopped. I tried to restart and smelled motor. It started but stopped again. Look forward to your response..
Answer Brian, A couple of things, This is not a "standard" sized dryer. The dryer repair kit will probably not work on your dryer, and you will need to order the individual parts 3394652 691366 349241T . To access the components you're working with, you'll need to remove the front cabinet and panels of the dryer. First thing, unplug the power cord, or remove power to the unit. 1. Remove the three screws that hold the control panel in place. 2. Remove the transition panel by removing the three retaining screws. The wiring diagram is located on the back side of the transion panel. 3. Lift the console up and flip it forward, being careful not to damage the knobs or the dryer front panel. 4. Using a putty knif, release the two reatining clips and remove the toe panel. 5. Disconnect the door switch wires. 6. Remove the control panel from the front panel and set it on top of the unit. 7. Remove the top two retaining screws. 8. Remove the bottom two screws. 9. Remove the lint screen. 10. Remove the three dryer lint duct assembly retaining screws and remove the assembly. 11. Remove the four heater element shield screws. 12. The dryer front panel can now be removed. Remove the blower assembly, transition duct and blower plate by removing the retaining screws. 13. Using a ratchet wrench and extension to hold the drive motor shaft stationary, remove the blower wheeel. You can now remove the belt, and tumbler to access the rollers, motor and idler assembly. Thanks and Good Luck

Drum makes loud thud ,like a shoe is in it. Already replaced drum wheels(2).
Answer Hi Jimmy. The rear drum felt seal kit is part # W10612022. The front drum seal kit is part # 279441. The drum assy. Part # W10389436 is out of stock. If you carefully inspect the roundness of the drum and the welded seam where the drum rotates ,you might see a un-even area where the thump occurs. The belt/ belt tension er pulley will poss. have issues upon inspection also. This part # is 691366.The blower wheel will have a thumping sound as it is stripped on the motor shaft, part # is694089. Where the drum roller shafts needing replaced ? This Lt. part # is W10359270. The rt. shaft is part # W10359269. Thank You.
