My dryer is making squealing noises, would the repair kit be the best place to start?
Answer Hello Gail! Yes, you can start with the dryer repair kit, 4392067. You can also check the drum felt seal, 280114. Thanks!
Horrible squealing noise, very loud. Need to know what to buy, and how to fix it, please.
You will want to remove the front panel of the unit and check the blower wheel. Make sure that there is nothing stuck in it. Also check the wheels to make sure that they are rolling properly.
My dryer unit will not start. I've tried unplugging then plugging. When I turn the dial to the proper setting and press the start button, I can hear the unit engaged but it will not start.
Answer Hello J.D.,
If you can open the door and hold the door switch, press the start button and spin the tub and the unit starts, the motor will need to be replaced. If not, you should pull the wiring diagram and trace the start circuit for faulty components.
My Whirlpool WED95HEXW0 dryer started squealing when it is running. Do you recommend that I start with the dryer repair kit? Can I continue to use it while I wait for the parts?
With the issue that you are having of the squealing noise, this will most commonly be caused by rollers that are going bad. This dryer repair kit will not work for your unit.
Dryer was making noise, now the motor won't start.
Answer Hello Patrick. Check and make sure the drum is not locked up. If not, you will need to replace the motor is the noise was coming from it. Also, make sure the thermal fuse and belt are good before replacing the motor. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
The drum in my dryer as reversed from what the video shows. The metal tab was toward the back. Should I put it back n the same way or reverse it?
Answer Hello Robert,
The manufacturer says it will make a difference and it should be changed. As a field tech for over 20 years, I never saw this make any difference.
