The knob on the dryer will only turn on the dryer randomly. We have to push in and pull out the knob repeatedly until it finally catches. The knob itself appears to be fine. The dryer works fine once it finally comes on. Does this sound like a timer problem or some other part? I want to make sure that I buy the right part.

I removed the timer because the Maytag dryer would not do anything . I could here a little hum in the timer when I turned the knob . There is a bar code on the timer with these numbers 4114B Maytag 6 3720660 M295 Kingston 71016- A01055. My Question is how can I be sure that the timer is the problem and if it is what part number do I need to order? I also will need a knob .

Good morning. I have a maytag model number mde6400ayq electric dryer with a serial number starting with 12. Will the 33002803 timer work with my dryer? Do you think that is the problem? I checked the door switch, the high temp limit switch and the other overheat sensors. They all have continuity. Thanks.

The dryer is a pull and hold to start. The knob has pulled off.it continued to start if I turned the part that held the knob. However, my son wanted to dry an item and turned the knob and pulled the stem. Now the dryer will not start at all. What parts do I need to replace?
