I have had leaking from the original assembly and replaced smaller latch and rubber grommet/seal with some help. Does this kit or switching specific parts solve the leaking problem. I have two wax motors now and don't use a rinse aid anyway. Also for this same model, I change the wash impeller every 1-2 years. Should I be using loctite on the screw before I put it in or is there something else I should be doing-the impeller is part #14 on your diagram for motor parts. Any suggestions are appreciated.
Answer Pat, When this dishwasher was first released for sale, they did have "Dual Wax Motors" on the dispenser assembly, that was eliminated and a conversion kit 12001867 was designed and installed in the newer units and used as a replacement for the original dual wax motor assembly. You'll be fine the way it is, but do not disconnect any wires etc. As for the leak, Yes, replacing the grommet and latch usually solves the issue, There is the rare occasion were the door panel gets damaged or warped and the leak continues, but that's a little rare. Make sure everything is installed in the proper position, and everything is tight, especially the mounting nut, and you should be fine. As for the impeller, You're changing it a bit too often, unless there's some type of deposit or damage to the vanes ? and the only thing needed to mount the impeller is the "O" ring 910934 under the screw head, the o ring acts as a seal and a compression washer to hold the impeller in position and keeps the screw from backing out.
Is the wax motor for soap dispenser the same as the the one used for the rinse aid? Are they interchangeable?
Answer Hello Roger! The wax motor used for your model is part number 902899. This is the wax motor for the rinse aid and dispenser. Thanks!
My problem is that the soap dispenser often does not open. Is this (AP4009497) the part I need to fix it? If so, are there installation instructions?
Answer Hi Bob. It sounds like you are on the right track. Are you loading the middle rack too much and something is binding, not allowing the door to open? You Just need to get into the inner door panel and carefully take it apart, replacing pieces one at a time. This kit should help if you are getting the properly timed 120vac at the solenoids. This kit part # is 12001867. Thank You.
