Hi, Is there a felt gasket attached to the lint screen? I am getting a lot of lint blowing by into the duct. The screen sits into the opening just fine. Do resistance or build up. No dryer sheets have ever been used on this unit. Scratching my head. Help!
Answer Hello Thomas,
The lint screen has a felt seal glued to it at one time, but the manufacturer dis-continued the felt seal because of the seals coming loose and getting wrapped up in the blower wheel. They no longer have the seal. As per the manufacturer, excessive lint is caused by two things: Washing too long, (wearing out the material), and too much detergent, (causing the excess detergent chemical reaction to attack the material causing it to come apart).
The exhaust fan housing is cast plastic. There is no method for it to retain the exhaust duct that runs outside to the wall vent.
Answer Hello Howard,
The duct that runs from the plastic housing to the duct that runs outside is retained in position by a small metal clip (AP4038272).
How do I remove this item?
Answer Hello Matilda,
To remove the Duct kit 12001324, you will use a flat blade and find the clips that hold the top in place. This will be in between the top and front panel. Use the flat blade to release clips. Once clips have been released you will raise the lid. Make sure unit is unplugged. You will then remove the 5/16" screws on either side of the front panel and lean panel out and lift off lower brackets. You will then remove the old duct and install new and reassemble.
