Hello, My whirlpool sport duet dryer isn't heating up anymore. Had it checked fuses are all fine. Could it e the motor?
Answer Nichola, Yes, it could be a fault in the motor, but that's not likely, at this point. It's more likely that the thermal fuse, has opened due to a high heat situation, or the heater element(if an electric dryer) has parted and has an open circuit. It could also be a faukty circuit in the control board W10111606, but again that's not the most likely issue. If you could supply a model number of the unit and repost your request, we could supply you with the necessary information to access and test the components. Thanks
are AP3965135 and W10111606 the same part?
Yes the control board for your unit is appliancepartspros.com part number AP3965135 which is manufacturer part number W10111606.
I have a Duet Sport Whirpool dryer. I loaded the clothes into the dryer & set the operating information, all the green lights came on & the time set but when I pushed the start button I was getting signal without starting, I check the door to make sure it was closed properly but still there was no operation. I tried several times to get operation but noting worked. Today I tried again & the dryer worked fine. I'm not sure if there is a problem now, I would appreciate any advice you my have. Thank you, Mike
Answer Hello Mike,
This sounds like you may have a poor electrical connection. This can be any connection inside the unit. It can also be the beginning of a board or component failure. I would use the unit as usual until the problem occurs again. At this point, I would open the unit and, one at a time, dis-connect and re-connect each connector to the control board. This will many times correct an issue of this nature. If it doesn't, pull the tech sheet and put the unit through a self-diagnostic cycle and pull any fault codes. The tech sheet is usually behind the kick panel.
