Oven made a loud popping noise and popped the breaker. Would not heat then, is it most likely the element or could it be wiring or is there a fuse somewhere in back. Broiler element still comes on and rest of stove works ok. Thank You

Answer Hello Jane! Make sure you are getting 240V to the oven and the bake element. If you are getting the proper voltage, you will need to replace the bake element only. Your part number is 71001680. Thanks!

I was preheating the oven today and saw an area on the baking element that was bright orange and a small flame. It continued to spread across the element until I flipped the circuit breaker to the house (turning the oven off at first did not stop the flame and orange area). It did this across half the element on the side and entire front of the element. Is the element all I need to replace? There are still lights on the stove/clock, etc. if turned on. And how hard is it to replace the element on your own without having to have a repair person out? Thanks.

Answer Hello Barbara! When the bake element shorts out it can cause a flare up in the oven. The bake element should be all thats needed. Your part number is 71001680. Keep the breaker off until the element is replaced. Thanks!

Everything works fine except the oven does not heat up very well at all. Is it possible that this part is the only problem, or do I need to look at other parts (board, limit switch, etc.)?

Answer Hello SJ. Test the bake element 71001680 and make sure it reads closed. If not, you will need to replace the element. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. I have a 10 yr + Jenn Air. I was preheating the oven. There was a bright blue flash, the display panel went dead, and the bake element burned bright white light for several minutes until my husband flipped the breaker switch. The bake element has a burnt, damaged area, 4" from where it plugs into the back of the oven. How do I know if I just need to replace the bake element or if I need additional parts?

Answer Hello Anne. If it damaged the oven liner, you will need to order 2210W114-18 and the element 71001680. If it also got the clock assembly 5700M662-60, you will need to order it as well. Hope this helps.
