When I put in the new element the wire and connector on the right appeared to be twisted upside down. I made what appeared to be a proper connection with the new but the element barely gets warm. When I set the bake at 450 most of the heat come from the broil element on top. Would I have been able to get a proper connection if one connector was upside down? What should I try next?

We replaced the bottom stove burn element. The oven heats up to the temperature fine but the food is not cooking all the way thru. Any suggestions. I have tested this with foods and end up using the top oven unit to finish cooking the dish.

Hi. the lower element, the bake element, in the lower oven of my range went out...I think. It preheated to cook on a convection setting, and I heard the signal that it was ready. When I went back into the kitchen, I noticed a very bright white light in the oven (the oven light was not on) and noticed it was coming for the very center of the element and the rest of the element was dark. Based on what I've told you, does it sound like I need to replace any other part other than number 74004107? ~ thank you!

The top element (broil) stopped working as we were using it yesterday. I removed the element today, and it has good continuity at 24 ohms. But the voltage at the push-on terminals (with element removed) ranges from 1 to 4 volts after the broil timer has clicked on. Sounds like a defective relay to me, but I'd like to make sure that I do not have to have the element connected to get a good voltage reading. Thanks.

I preheated my lower oven to 490 last nite..once ready, I inserted 2 loaves of dough and threw one cup of water onto floor of oven to generate the steam needed for baking..(have done this for years).. 20 minutes later I opened the oven to find the oven not very hot and the dough barely cooking.... I soon determined that the lower heating element is not heating up...but the oven is getting some level of heat (I assume from top element)...could the water I throw in have damaged the heating element? Also, it was my impression that the top element in each of the 2 ovens is for broiling and the bottom one is for baking...if correct, why does the top one heat up when I am baking??
