We have the captioned cook top and the front left and rear right burners (6 inch) have problems. I could send photos of the working elements, but, trying to go verbal; >>
The front right takes great time to boil and we think that the second burner element in it is burned out. The center of the burner stays black as does the possible second ring from the outside.
The right rear burner shows no rings heating below about position 4 or 5. Over that setting the redness is somewhat variable along the lengths. I think I'm being told that the burner boils OK, but will not simmer.
Rethinking what I just wrote, I think the following is a clearer statement
Neither burner boils as quick as it should.
Neither burner will glow read when set at #3, or lower.
When set on high, #7, the glow pattern is not the same between the two units.
Also, please confirm my assumption the the burner box just lifts off (out of) the counter, to be opened for element replacing.
Thanks, Bob M
If the center of the burners are not coming on then the elements would be the issue. The cooktop does just lift out of the cabinet but you may have to remove mounting brackets that hold it in place. Once lifted out just remove the screws around the perimeter to lift the glass top off.
Would this work with the maytag model CSE9000BCQ?
Answer Helllo John! Yes, the element kit 12500038 can be used on your model CSE9000BCQ for the 8" element. Thanks!
