The bottom heating element on my upper oven is not heating properly. I want to replace it but it looks like there is a plate over the area where it would 'plug in'. Is it safe to remove it and replace the heating element on my own?
Answer Hi Joyce. First remove the power. Then the door and racks. Then the screws to the element mount plate. There will only be enough wire to gently pull it out far enough to remove the connectors. Then you make sure you have tight connections before you remount the element part # Y04000066. Thank You.
I need to replace the bottom (Baking) element too. But the connections to the element seems to be welded to the bottom element, what do I do? Thanks.
Answer Hello Emmanuel. The connections are tight on the element Y04000066. If they are welded onto the element, you will need to cut the element wires and crimp on new terminal onto the wires. You will need to use high temperature terminals TJMA02875-1. Hope this helps.
