If the element wires are touching, do you need to replace the burner? I'm not able to bend them back in place.
Answer Hello Greg,
The wires cannot touch as this will give the circuit a different resistive value and will cause multiple issues including premature part failures. I would definitely change the element 8523696 if I could not manipulate the assembly to operate properly.
Glass top surface is shattered. Is it possible to replace?
Answer George, the white cooktop is part number 8187906 and the almond cooktop is part number 8187907. Thanks!
At times when I'm using my 9 1/2 inch cook top burner on high heat & I reduce the temperature to a lower setting it goes full hot( cherry red ) I have to turn it off for a min, remove the pan & turn it back on, then it's ok. This happens maybe once every 2 weeks.
Answer George, I don't think you have an issue with the stove, But if the element is staying on after or longer than usual, the infinite switch would be the place to start 3149400. But you may want to consider this first, Once you build up enough heat in the pot/pan, and it transfers the heat to the contents, the pot/pan remains hot and it does not take a lot of heat to maintain the heat, especially if you're cooking for extensive periods of time, or larger containers. A defective switch or element, usually deteriorates or malfunctions quicker than "every two weeks". You may want to try changing, experimenting with the cooking process, use a lower setting to start or reduce the setting on the burner sooner and lower. Good Luck and Thanks
Is it possible to swap one of the other switches in place and see if that activates it and thus determine which part is not working properly? thank you!
Answer Hello Roman! You can switch the left rear surface switch out with the right rear surface switch to verify this is the part needed. They are the same parts. Thanks!
My right rear element doesn't heat up. The little red light comes up near the switch but no heat. The circle on the cooktop is about 6.5" in diameter. What is the correct heating element for that?
Answer Hello Roman! The right rear element on your cooktop model GR448LXPQ2 is part number 8523698. However, if you are turning the switch and it does not activate the element you will more than likely need the switch 3149404. Thanks!
The accusimmer burner is out, is the accusimmer the larger burner?
Answer Depending on the model number the accusimmer can be a single element burner or a dual element burner. We would need the correct model number, to determine if 8523696 is the accusimmer burner for your unit.
