I need to replace on a Sears Kenmore refrigerator freezer the gasket. Please see if any of these numbers help. But, I could not find the Model #. The following: 011705 ^; GHRG-BRD; D-46-1-64254; OHRG Code 28; BRD 2, REF 1138, OILCHRR 2616.
Answer Hello Mildred! Unfortunately, we are unable to verify the correct replacement gasket with the numbers given. The model number tag plate should be located inside the refrigerator or freezer section along the walls, behind the bottom toe plate, behind a crisper drawer, or on the face frame of the refrigerator body. Please obtain this information and repost. You may also repost with the dimension of the door and we will be glad to see if we have a universal gasket available. Thanks.
Do I need an appliance repair person to install a replacement gasket for our Amana bottom freezer door?
Answer Hello Julie,
This is a screw on type gasket 12550116Q. What you would need to do is, with door open, loosen screws under the lip of the door seal. Remove the door seal and install new seal. There will be a lip that goes under the liner before you screw it down.
Need to replace bottom freezer gasket. What number is the correct one for this model and how do you replace it?
Answer Sue, I found model number BX22S5L. The freezer gasket is part number 12550116Q. Loosen the screws holding the inner panel and gasket. Pull the old gasket off. The new gasket will press into the door liner. With the installation, you will have to screw in the corners first and do every other screw on each side to tighthen. It may be best to soak the new gasket in warm water to help take its shape/form You may need to use a hair dryer to form the seal, be careful not to melt it. Thanks.
Is there any directions on how to install this gasket on the door. Any help would be appreciated.
Answer Hello Durand,
The way that you change the door seal on this unit is, under the inside lip of door seal there are screws. Loosen the 1/4" screws all the way around door. Remove old door seal and install new. The door seal will go under the liner and then tighten down the screws.
