No heat from the Gas Dryer. I have the front off and don't see an coil element heating. Perhaps the white vent fuse is blown. Thoughts?
Donald for Model Number MDG5500AWW
Answer Hello Donald. You will need to test the thermostats and the flame sensor and make sure they are good. They should read closed for continuity. Also, check the igniter and make sure it is getting hot enough to light the gas. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter for the testing procedures. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
if the timer whont move but stil heat then what.
Manuel S for Model Number mdg96006aww
Answer Manuel, If the dryer runs and heats, but the timer does not advance, it's most likely a fault in the dryness control board 33002389 or timer, itself 33001932.Check the wires between the timer and board, and replace the board , fi alls OK. Thanks
My gas dryer comes on, the glow bar turns red and the gas lights. Then the gas goes out, the glow bar will turn red but no gas. This will go on for a few times, then the gas will light but goes out quickly. I was told that this is a thermostat that is bad, but now which one? I think there are 3 thermostats, sensors etc.
Mike for Model Number MDG5500AWW
Answer Hello Mike,
This is not a thermostat. This is one of the coils on the safety valve. You should always replace the coils at the same time. They come in a kit with the two coils together as part number 279834. Kill the power to the unit before you start and if you have any mechanics gloves, it's not a bad idea as many edges inside the unit can break blood.
My dryer spins but it does not warm up. But it does spin.
Anthony M. for Model Number mdg6800aww
Answer Anthony, Being a gas dryer, You most likely have an ignition issue. You will need to remove the front panel, reinstall the loading door and check the gas valve components for the ignition and burner procedure. Thanks and Good Luck

Answer Hi Anthony. There is a thermal fuse on top of the blower hsg. Part # 33001762. It should ohm closed not open. Make sure you have correct power 240 vac. Thank You.
Is there a therma fuse or is it the hi thermostat? If there is one where is it located!
Gary for Model Number maytag mdg9700awm
Answer Hello Gary. Yes, the thermal fuse 33001762 is located on the blower housing assembly. If you look under the drum, on the blower wheel housing, you will see the thermal fuse. It should read closed for continuity. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
What happens when the thermal fuse goes bad?
Jose for Model Number mde7600ayw

if the fuse thermal goes bad what happens?
Jose G. for Model Number mde7600ayw
Answer Hello Jose. If your thermal fuse blows out, your unit will not come on at all. If it did blow, you will want to fix what ever caused the thermal fuse to blow before you replace the fuse again. Thanks!
