How do you installed just the glass top on this model?
Answer Hello Ron,
To replace the glass top you will first lift unit out of the cabinet. Place on a protective surface. Make sure power is off to unit. Then you would remove the 1/4" hex head screws around the perimeter of the unit. Lift off top and transfer other components to new top. Reinstall.
I was looking for a black glass top for part number 71002557. Do you know where I could purchase one?
Answer Hello William, we have black glass top part# 71002557 in stock today. You can order on our website or call and one of our Parts Pros can order it for you. Thanks!
Glass top was broken and replaced with new Jenn-air top, however new top does not display heat temp levels that would previously display on my old stovetop when I using it. Is there something else that needs to be purchased to display heat levels selected? Also, is there a gasket or liner that needs to be used under the glass intallation to seal area between glass and granite.
Answer Texas, You'll need to check all the "light box" Y04100416 circuits and wiring. They should light up based on the setting you selected. The nomenclature/ descriptions are part of the glass cooktop and appear when the switch is turned on and the box light illuminates. As for the foam seal 12400039 will work for between the glass cooktop and countertop. It is applied to the bottom of the glass, 1/4 inch in from the edge. Thanks
S/N 13411831k - I have a cracked black glass cooktop approx 21.5 x 31.5 inches. It would appear that you may have a close replacement unit in stock; is it for my stove also? If so, I have no manual(s); how difficult is it to replace by myself?
Answer Hello Mark! The glass frame is part number 71002557, the white glass is no longer available. Black is the only color available. Here is some information from the manufacture regarding the installation, hope they help!
1. Disconnect the unit from electrical power.
2. Put a protective covering on the countertop.
3. Place the cooktop upside down on the protective covering on the countertop. Make sure the control knobs do not touch the counter.
4. Loosen the ¼? hex head screws around the perimeter of the main top glass.
5. With the screws loose, gently press down on the bottom of the burner box to level the unit.
6. Re-tighten the ¼? screws.
7. Re-install cooktop in countertop cutout.
