I have a whirlpool frig that requires the Type 2 filter. I have a reverse osmosis feeding the fridge. You posted earlier that it will not work with the fridge. Please explain why? I too would like to bypass the filter since my RO has much better filters. Thanks, John

I have a Whirlpool side by side that uses a PURPush filter. I recently installed a reverse osmosis water filtration system (Culligan) for the house. However, the fridge stopped producing ice and is no dispensing water any longer. I would like to try by passing the PURPush filter .... is there a by pass cap or anything for that purpose? Thanks

About two months ago, the water pressure dropped on my fridge. Now it takes a long time to fill a glass with water and some of my ice cubes are hollow. When the fridge is either dispensing water or filling the ice maker, a low "moaning" sound is heard. I had replace the filter about a month before and it had worked fine until this happened. it worked one minute and then went slow the next time we used it. Before discarding a potentially good filter or replacing the water pump, I thought I would try the filter Bypass to see if it is the filter that is causing the problem. What do you suggest? Thanks, Gregg

Except the ones it shows has a 10 or 11 at the end of the model number my refrigerator does not show this. Is the part number AP4104279 the right part for my refrigerator?
