I have a side by side the freezer side is freezing and the other side is not cooling. I defrosted two times and still freezing.
You can check the defrost limiter to see if it has continuity. If it does not have continuity then you would not need to change it out. You will also want to check the defrost thermistor for resistance. The resistance values should be as follows, 42.5K at 0 degrees, 14.4k at 37 degrees and 5K ohms at 77 degrees. If not within range then it would need to be replaced. If it checks good then also check the defrost heater for continuity. If no continuity then replace and if good with continuity and all other components check ok then you would need a new main control board. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
I have a Panasonic Microwave model number nns933bf every thing work except the heating what could be the problem.
We do not have information for Panasonic microwaves but in general when a microwave is not working, the magnetron would need to be checked for resistance. The resistance value should be less than 1 ohm. The capacitor, diode and transformer would also need to be checked.
I need to know how to wire defrost thermostat and defrost heater on Admiral refrig model no as22n8d
Answer Hello Wendell,
There are only two wires to each. Since these parts are not polarized, you cannot hook either of them up "backwards". The defrost heater will have a white wire to one end and a yellow on the other. The defrost thermostat will have a white wire that attaches to the defrost heater white wire and a blue wire on the other end that leads back to the temperature control in the fresh food section.
What is best way to remove and install the defrost heater?
To remove the defrost heater, you will first need to remove the shelves and the rear cover in the freezer compartment. Once removed you will need to defrost the coils around the heater and remove the 2 screws at each heater bracket and remove the heaters. Install new heater and reassemble.
I purchased defrost element #61001846 for my rsd2200eam matag refridge got part dual element. Old part single element. How do I mount?
Answer Hello Bob. According to the model number provided, this unit uses a double heater, not a single. You need to make sure the model number you provided is correct.
I have had to replace this heating elment 3 times. twice within 1 month, does anybody know what would be the cause of the top elment burning out??? Please help Thanks
Answer Dennis, A couple of things to remember. Make sure there are no loose connections in the harness connections. Make sure the rubber" boots" on the end of the glass tube fit tight and don't get knocked off when installing the heater assembly(moisture on the inside of the glass will burn out a heater prematurely. Be careful with the retainer clips as well. Of course you need to follow the basic precautions with glass and sensitive components, Thanks
Where are the three defrost parts located?
Answer Hello Terry,
The defrost heater 61001846 and defrost thermostat 52085-29 are both in the freezer compartment behind the removable back wall. The defrost timer 68233-3 is located in the fresh food compartment in the control box.
