After a spatula fell onto heating element during wash, the dishwasher quit heating water and drying. Is this likely to be the heating element, thermostat or thermal fuse?

My Whirlpool dishwasher stopped drying a few weeks ago. I tested the heating element with a multimeter and determined it was bad. I contacted Whirlpool for a replacement heating element and installed the replacement when I received it. When I installed it, the threading in the nuts they sent with the heating element didn't match the threading on the ends. I didn't think much of it and went ahead and tightened them anyway as best I could, ensured it was a snug fit on both ends, and re-connected the heating element. As best as I can tell, I still get no heat or very little heat from the heating element and am now wondering if they sent the wrong part (and should try buying one from you). I would the part back but Whirlpool won't give me a refund once the part is installed. Could I have gotten the wrong part? If I buy from you instead and it turns out to be the wrong part, what is your refund policy?

I need to replace the heating element in my dishwasher and part # W10518394 is purportedly the correct replacement for my original element. The dimensions of the replacement element, however, are wider by about 3 inches than the original. Will this part still work?

Our Kenmore 66513279K114 started leaving the dishes very wet about 2 weeks ago. When it would finish a cycle (light says complete) dishes would be clean but very wet and no heat/steam whatsoever to speak of when opening after 'drying cycle.' I examined the heating element and noticed a crack in it. I ordered the appropriate replacement. Installed but still no heat/drying. I did some more digging and read that the high temp (limit) switch might be bad. I ordered a replacement, installed it and still no heat. I've checked resistance on the limit switch (both old and new) and they read 0 - so they should BOTH be fine. Resistance on the new heating element reads 11. From what I've read that is within an acceptable range. Is the Controller board my only other option for failure here? What about wiring harness? How do I go about checking if those are the problem?

I purchased from eBay Heating Element W10518394 that in cross reference was OK for my model. After receiving I noticed that both end poles with threads are bigger diameters as the original ones. Can you check if there was a change in size?

Will the heat element, manufacturer part number W10518394, work in a Whirlpool dishwasher model GU2400XTPT0? There is no original part available, manufacturer part number 8563464. I'm having trouble finding a compatible substitute heat element.
