My dishwasher was working the last time I used it. When I loaded it today and tried to start it, nothing would light up and it would not come on at all. I checked fuses, pulled out the dishwasher and plugged it into another socket that I knew worked. Still nothing. Any ideas?

I have a kitchenaid dishwasher and I need a new heating element. Can I use this whirlpool heating element in it? They don't make the part for the kitchenaid dishwasher anymore. It has a plastic bottom.
