Can Y055980 High Temperature Adhesive be used instead of 279368 in gluing the dryer door gasket Part Number: AP2913046. Will there be problems if I do?
Answer Hello Michael,
There should be no problem with using the high temperature adhesive. Which high temperature adhesive makes no difference. It will work better on either adhesive to allow it to get tacky before applying the seal. Then allow 24 hours for the adhesive to cure. Using heat from the unit does not work well and the seal can "drift" causing it not to seal well.
What solvent/substance can effectively clean up my less than perfect glue job of the dryer door seal back in place? In just a couple places I smeared extra glue. Please advise?
Answer Hello Lisa. Hello Lisa. If you let the glue dry, it should not hurt anything. Only thing to remove it once dry is a razor blade, but it may take off the paint and cause rusting. The danger with using a solvent is, if not properly vented out, it could explode with the dryer heat.
My dryer made this sound all of a sudden a month ago, and clips and buttons seem to have destroyed the belt. If I change the front and rear seal, should my problem be fixed?
Answer Noise, Probably Not, It sounds more like the drum has shifted and articles are getting stuck between the drum and the bulkhead. You will most likely need the drum seals, but you also need to check the drum rollers 12001541 shafts 6-3129480 and front glides 306508 for excess wear and damage causing the drum to shift.
