I woke up to my refrigerator ice maker chute door opening and closing with a popping sound, and the temp display for the freezer and refrigerator blinking From what I've read so far, it sounds like the high voltage board? I'm on a fixed income and was wondering how much this part is, if that is truly the problem...?

Our ice maker recently quit. I took the ice maker out and set aside to let any possible ice thaw. That worked last time this happened. I re-installed the ice maker and I could hear water filling the reservoir. I waited awhile and heard water running again, this time it inside the ice and all over the compartment and of on the floor of my kitchen. After quickly turning off the ice maker and removing it again. I noticed that it made ice but didn't kick it out. I found the little servo motor inside was open circuit. Aha, I found my problem. Sometime later we found an "identical" ice maker from a local appliance recycler. My instincts told me to do at least a resistance check on the motor. My wife says what could possibly go wrong!? So, I plugged it in heard a fan come on and a nasty buzzing sound and the smell of something burning leaving a rather lasting stench in the freezer compartment. That motor drew approximately 8 amps rather than the few milliamps that a good one draws. The refrigerator still works everything except the ice maker. I was able to get another identical servo motor back in the original ice maker. I did a visual inspection of the 12920710 (19 in ours) board, it appeared pristine on both sides. It has the correct code for that unit leaving me to believe the board isn't the culprit. Where should I look next?

My control panel does not work. I purchased 12920710. When I install the new part I cannot get the buttons on the control panel to work so that I can change the program code. I am following instruction sheet 16027069 that came with the part. When I reinstall the old panel, the buttons work for a short time and then freeze up again. Do I have incorrect instructions or do you have any idea what I need to do to get the new part to work\/
