I have a Kenmore Elite Oasis and the door will no longer stay open. I believe the lid springs are bad. Are there one or two springs for this model and do you know the part numbers?
Thanks very much!
Answer Hello Tom,
If the lid springs are defective you will need to order one for each side. There is a specific part for the left 8580114 and one for the right 8580115. These are not difficult to install and should be installed in pairs to prevent repeated issues.
I need to know how to replace the inner lid on this washer for my daughter to save my grandson some money since he broke it and she is making him pay to repair it. Thanks
Answer Hello Andrew,
You should be able to remove the hinge screws, (two on each side), and remove the lid assembly 8572026. From this point you will just have to remove the screws holding the assembly together and reassemble in the reverse order. It is advisable to take pictures to refer back to during the reassembly process in case you need them. There are no directions in print from the manufacturer on this job.
I ordered the lid hinge arm from your website (part # 8563964). How do I remove the old hinge, so I can put the new one in?
Answer Jay, here's some help: Unplug washer or disconnect power. To remove the lid: a) Raise the lid and remove the two hinge pin screws from both sides. b) Lift the lid, slide it off the hinge pins, and remove the lid from the washer. Pull the hinge pin out of the hinge you are removing. Reverse the procedure and check the washer and lid for operation.
Is the 8563964 hinge right & left specific? I need right hinge as I face the washer.
Answer Hello David! No, the hinge arm 8563964 is not location specific. This can be used as the left or right side. Thanks!
How do I replace the left hinge pin?
To replace the hinge pin, to remove the hinges you will have to lift the main top. To do so you would push in on the spring clips that are in between the front panel and main top. Remove the screws from the hinge and install new hinges.
Washing machine Lid just falls down, much heavier than it use to be. Feels like some sort of assistance spring has failed. Could you help me find the replacement part. Thanks
Answer Hello Anthony,
One or both of the hinge springs have failed. These have a left (AP3885286) and a right (AP3885287). Since they have different part numbers, you will need to order one of each.
