Fridge isn't cooling and the freezer is fine. Do I need a new housing assbly or Therm control or both? (also, you list 2 therm control part numbers - which is right for this model) Can I check one or the other with a multimeter.

The damper door spring seems to be broken/dislodged. We've had issues with frozen food in the fridge, so I've been breaking away ice from the door and must have broken the spring. Can you help me fix the damper door spring and whatever is causing our refrigerator food to freeze? I replaced a sensor (8" wire with white plastic sensor on end) about 6 months ago, but that didn't fix the problem completely. It seems frozen food is more likely when fridge is full and for items on upper shelves. Oh, and now the refrigerator door doesn't want to close completely unless you press it shut intentionally (maybe need a new gasket?)

Thanks for quick response. There is confusion on my part still. Damper control unit has no connection to any electrical control. It is purely thermal and mechanical. It contains a bellows with a heat sensing coil. Only adjustment to damper control is via a gear-driven, internal spring tensioner adjusted by the damper control rod. Movement of this arm and gear connection has no effect on damper.

Freezer seemed to be working fine. Refrigerator side warm (~60 F.). Coils on freezer frozen over as well as air channels to refrigerator. Defrosted both with hair dryer, freezer still fine (~0 F.) Refrigerator stays at ~30 F. regardless of temp setting. Removed Housing assembly. Tested damper control unit with ice water and hot water flow. No movement of damper control rod or small bellows in damper control unit. I understand need to test defrost circuit for continuity. Question is about damper control however. Does no bellows or rod movement with overflow of cold and hot water signify need to replace damper control (along with entire housing assembly) or am I testing damper control incorrectly?
