Washer operates poperly during all wash cycles. Spin cycle gets louder and louder. Tub wobbles all over. I purchased a transmission for the unit. Will this cover my problem?
Answer Hello Armando. If the tub bearing is bad and roaring, then the transmission kit will fix that problem. You will need to change the snubber 21002026 for the tub balance issue. Hope this helps.

My Maytag washer is ok during washing cycle but during rinse water is just draining, the tub is not moving and the clothes are still soaking wet What could be the problem? A technician diagnosed it to be the transmission gear not functioning. I would appreciate any help from you so I could order the part from your store. Thanks
This issue would not have anything to do with the transmission. The transmission on this washer only agitates and does not have any bearing on the spin cycle. The things that would be the most likely cause for this issue would be a bad thrust bearing or a spin bearing that is seized up. The only case where a transmission would need to be replaced for a spin issue would be if the shaft of the transmission where it connects to the thrust pulley has dropped and then that would require the transmission to be replaced. The first thing to check is the thrust bearing by turning it counter clockwise and see if it lifts the brake. If the brake lifts but the transmission does not turn then this would be more likely the spin bearing. If the Brake does not lift then the thrust bearing is most likely worn out and would need to be replaced. If you replace the thrust bearing and it is loose on the shaft then it would be an issue of the shaft on the transmission dropping.
Washer is leaking oil. Can I replace the oil? If not would I need any other parts than the trans kit? Can I do the repair with normal tools?
Answer Hello Walter. No, if the oil is leaking, you will need to replace the transmission 35-6615 in the unit. You can use normal tools to replace the transmission.
