Washer operates poperly during all wash cycles. Spin cycle gets louder and louder. Tub wobbles all over. I purchased a transmission for the unit. Will this cover my problem?
Answer Hello Armando. If the tub bearing is bad and roaring, then the transmission kit will fix that problem. You will need to change the snubber 21002026 for the tub balance issue. Hope this helps.

All cycles work except the spin cycle. The spin cycle works randomly until now it wont spin at all. What parts should be replaced?
Answer Hello Leroy,
If the spin cycle has been accompanied by a loud roaring noise, the spin bearing and outer tub seal 12001598 have failed. If no roar was ever noticed, (it would have been loud and you would have noticed it), the thrust bearing 12002213 is most likely at fault.
The center shaft is loose. This causes the agitator shake is there anyway to stablize the shaft?
If the shaft coming from the bottom of the tub is loose then the issue would be caused by the transmission. There should be no play in the transmission shaft.
How do you know when it is time to replace the transmission on model MAV6260AWW (Maytag Atlantis)?
Answer Dr. G,
During agitation if the units motor is running, the belt is turning the pump and the thrust bearing but the unit is not agitating then most likely the transmission is faulty unless there is an issue with the thrust bearing.
Had to replace belt that went bad. Now the washer is leaking oil on the floor.
Answer Hello Harry,
The other belt may have failed because of a bad lip seal 207843 but there is no way the belt replacement caused the unit to leak oil. The old lip seal has to be removed with a special tool TJ20000021 and if the transmission shaft has a groove worn into it from the old seal, the transmission will have to be replaced to correct the issue.
My Maytag is spreading oil all underneath the machine.
Answer Hello Jill. You will need to replace the transmission to repair the unit.
