Washer operates poperly during all wash cycles. Spin cycle gets louder and louder. Tub wobbles all over. I purchased a transmission for the unit. Will this cover my problem?

My washer makes a loud noise when in the wash cycle. The Spin cycle is working normally. When I manually spin then drive belt in one direction the tub spins, the other direction nothing happens. Is the splined shaft for the agitator supposed to spin in that direction? And is that a transmission problem?

My washer fills up fine. When it gets ready to agitate - it makes a God awful, loud noise that sounds like there are rocks in the machine. The agitator does not agitate. The machine spins fine and removes all the water. I tipped the machine to it's side and took the belt off. I tried to spin the motor, the water pump and the transmission wheel. When spinning the "transmission wheel" the agitator inside appears to turn but not in a steady motion. It moved around with a jerky motion. The other items spun very smoothly. Could this problem be the washing machine transmission??? I have already replaced the agitator because the plastic gears on the bottom were broken.

My washer fills up with water then will not go into the next step. It sounds like it wants to get started then quits. I have a small faint smell of burning rubber. I checked the belts underneath and they are working. I also turned the inside of the washer left and right and it turns without any noise.

The washer fills up with water but won't go into next step which I believe is the wash step. I ordered a new timer but that didn't solve it and I checked the lid switch to make sure I was getting proper operation. That was ok. What do I do next as far as parts to check?

Replaced thrust bearing, but clothes are still wet. The machine does spin on the spin cycle. I noticed that it is very difficult to manually spin the tub. Is the brake sticking?

Motor went out so replaced it. While I was at it I replaced the Springs, Snubber, and put in a Thrust Bearing kit. Everything fine for a few weeks of use until a washing novice put a ''large' load in with the water level on very low. immediately began hearing some metal clunking in agitation mode. stopped the machine, emptied it, and checked it's operation to find that it spins when turned by the belt, spins and drains normally, makes some periodic muted clunking noises when agitating but is otherwise working normally. I am thinking the large load with minimal water damaged the transmission in some way. What is your best guess?
