i own a kenmore elite 110.27082603 and ul shows up on the display and its doesnt finish the spin cycle. could i need new bearings?
Answer Ray, If the washer is not being overloaded, and there are no abnormal squealing or rumbling noises when the washer is operating, then it's not likely a bearing issue. It's more likely a false reading to the CCU from the Rotary Position Switch [W10183157] or a slow drain causing the tub to shift and go off balance, so check the drain hose and pump for kinks and clogs first.
Washer is making loud grinding noise on spin cycle, think its bearings but can't get part #. Local dealer says need to order tub to get bearings . I hope not.
Answer Mark, The outer tub assembly W10193886 is one option and the assembly is available. The manufacturer (Whirlpool) has developed a tub bearing/seal kit and tool for the same repair, and they are is also available at this time. W10435302 kit and W10447783. You will need both the part and the tool. The tool is required to remove the existing bearings from the tub, and to properly install, seat and align the new bearings in the tub.
The basket does not spin.
Answer Hello Armando. You need to check and see if something is stuck between the inner and the outer tubs on the unit. You need to remove the inner basket to check this. If not, and the basket is not spinning by hand, you may have bad bearings and need to replace the outer tub assembly.
