How do I know if I need to order the spring that is listed as not part of this kit? Is it necessary or just depending on what it is broken?
Answer Hello Renee. Yes, you will need to look and see if your old spring is broken. If not, then you will not need to order the spring. Hope this helps.

My Amana fridge will not spit out any ice...Should I replace the motor , or something else? I still get water from the door.
Answer Hello Marian. Test for power to the auger motor when the dispenser is pressed. If there is power there, replace the auger motor. If there is no power, check the micro switch. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
Does it matter which of the 2 wires for the solenoid are connected to terminals JF1 and JF2 on the control board?
No the wiring for the solenoid on the door either wire can be connected to either terminal but in most cases the wire will only reach to a certain terminal.
Hello. My ice dispenser quit spitting out ice and now just makes a loud noise. The water works fine. Is it the Ice Door Fountain Kit that I need to replace?
When you pull the ice bin out and have the door of the freezer open, push on the light switch and on the dispenser lever and see if the auger motor turns. If it does then it sounds like the ice door fountain kit would be the issue of the dispenser not allowing ice through.
1) How do you know if the solenoid is bad in the fridge door. 2) do you just sell the disperser ice kit without the solenoid.
Answer Hello Lester. If the solenoid is stuck, it is bad. They do not offer it separately due to a design change in the flapper. You will need to replace the whole kit 12001991 on the unit.
How do you stop random dripping of water after filling glass from ice/water dispenser. It starts dripping randomly after a few seconds or sometimes 2-3 minutes later! I have replaced switch & actuator pad already to no avail. please advise..thank you
This issue would be more of a problem with water seeping through the water valve. When a water valve does not close all the way it will cause seeping of lines and cause water to drip from dispenser or if it is on the icemaker side it would cause freezing of the fill tube. You would want to replace the water valve 61005626.
I installed the door flapper to my jenn-Air #61005883 however the flapper will not open for ice. I know the flapper can go onto the door strike in only one position. Is it possible i need to replace the solenoid, or have I missed a step?
Answer Manley, Yes, you should consider the 12001991 fountain kit for the proper repair to your dispenser. And you, need to consider the actuator switch 61005520 If it is damaged or "sticky'' and allows more than 3 VAC (constant) to trickle up into the control board, the board will be damaged as well ( that's what most likely happened).
