When the ice is dispensing into my glass, the unit makes a grinding noise. The ice maker makes ice and dispenses but it shouldn't make this grinding noise. Anyone with an answer ?
The grinding noise that you are hearing may be a bad solenoid in the dispenser. Remove the dispenser cover by taking the drip tray out and remove the 2 screws under the tray that hold the faceplate on. Once removed, and making sure power supply is unplugged. Remove the dispenser housing. There are 3 screw holding it in place, 2 at top and one near the center at the bottom. Slide the assembly out and remove 1 wire from the solenoid. reconnect the ribbon harness to the front panel and plug unit back in. Take the ice bin out and close the freezer door. Once out push the dispenser for ice and see if the noise still occurs with the solenoid disconnected. If it does then you will need part number 12001991. If the noise continues and happens on both crushed and cubed then it would be a bad auger motor. Also try it with the bin in and out with the solenoid disconnected.
The ice cubes are frozen together when they are ejector, not all the time. Help' thank you.
Answer Hello John. If the icemaker is overfilling, you may need to replace the water valve 67003753 on the unit.
My ice maker doesn't dump the ice.
Answer Hello Abelardo,
You most likely have either a bad ice maker cycling thermostat (AP3135377) or the mold heater has failed. The mold heater on this unit isn't listed so you will probably have to replace the ice maker assembly (AP4135008).
Having problems with ice maker. Some time make ice than stops making ice. Move the ice bin then by next day makes ice. Can you please help me on this problem ?
Answer Hi Sergio. Regulate the ice bin so you use half of the ice in the bin before you turn the ice maker on once again. This way the ice does not get stuck in the ejector blades of the ice maker. Reach in and see if there is a cube stuck sideways. If the ice stripper arm part # 2182124 is broken, then you need to replace the stripper carefully as you need to loosen the ice maker head bolts behind the white cover. It sounds like you have an intermittent issue . Make sure the connector ends are making positive terminal contact tight. When the water minerals get built up in the bottom of the ice maker, it allows the ice not to eject well. Examine the bottom of the inside of the ice maker to see if this is your cause. It normally is a deeper color all one shade of olive green. If the ice maker head internal contacts do not allow the heater to energize for approx. 6-seconds then the ice does not eject. All of this are signs of a needed ice maker par # D7824706Q. Thank You.
