Answer Hello David. The spring connects to the bottom of the idler pulley arm 6-3033630 in the small hole and goes down to the motor bracket in the small hole. This dryer makes a clicking noise when it starts on the first load of wet clothes, sounds like idler assembly, pulled it, looks good, the plastic on backside of idler, does it have a lubed felt pad or does it just rub against the lubed support ?
Answer Dick, there is no felt pad on the idler assembly, you're correct, the white pad, rubs against the lubed araea of the motor support. Some things to check : Check and make sure te idler pad and motor support are well lubed, check or replace the drive belt, check and insure the rear motor mount bolt is tight, and check and clean the blower wheel and housing. Thanks and Good Luck.
I have notice that the Idler Arm is very wobbly. The screw is tight. Should this be replaced or is this normal?
Answer Alan, All is normal, the idler assembly does "wobble" when the belt tension is removed. When the belt tension is on the assembly, the idler will not wobble, but may have a little movement Thanks, and Good Luck.
