My gas dryer started making a terrible squealing sound last night. When I manually rotate the drum, it sounds like the pulley bearing may be the source. I noticed in your other responses that baby powder is recommended to lubricate. Do you think I will have success with the lubrication path, or should I just make the replacement? In either case, when I took off the front panel, the pulley arm was visible, but the bearing looked like a challenge to service from the front. Can you also help me with the best way to access the pulley? Thank you.

My Whirlpool dryer has a high pitch squeal. I can spray wd40 on the tension pulley, and this quiets it temporarily but it comes back. I think I need to replace the bearing, but not sure if part comes with bearing or just plastic tension wheel. What parts are needed to change out this pulley? Thank you

My idler pulley just popped off. The belt lost tension, the triangular plastic was broken and the pulley was lying on the bottom of the dryer. There was some black on the pulley. I was planning on replacing the pulley. Why do you think the pulley popped off. Do you think I need to worry about anything else? The brack and spring seem fine.

Hi, I just wanted to follow up on my previous question. Would you recommend replacing the shafts along with the pully kit that you recommended in the previous answer to my first question. If so, could you forward me the shaft part numbers and possibly installation instructions? Thank you!
