I purchased switch 71001166 for the right side switch controlling the small rear burner. Some of the question/answers here give the impression this switch is universal to both sides, but I don't see how. The knob is 90 degrees off for the right side, but is aligned when installed on the left side of the cooktop. The knob mounts are aligned at 45 degree angles to the cooktop. Basically, the left side infinite switches have the post aligned pointing to the mounting screws and the right side switched have the post aligned at 90 degrees. My question is, does the other infinite switch listed - 74011242 really have 4 mounting holes on top. That would be truly universal for both sides. Or, am I missing something and installing 71001166 wrong?

Our switch for a glass top cooktop with down draft (dual) is gone. The part # is 7403P40660 all the information says to use the replacement part 12002144 but the reviews of successful installation are terrible... Any ideas on where we might be able to get the correct part?

On two burners, rotary switch operates correctly but the light which shows the heat setting is burned out. What is the correct part number for replacing the light? Do I need to replace the switch itself or is light separate? NOT talking about the indicators that show burner has been used and is still hot. Just the lights under the control knobs. Thx--

Hello, I am in need of two (2) INFINITE SWITCH for my Jenn Air CCE3401 cooktop. I need it for the following: 1) Left front 6" burner 2) Right front 9" burner My questions are: Will the Part Number AP4088404 (MFG Number 71001166 ) work for both positions? Do I need two different kinds of switches such that the knobs turn properly consistent with the heat level markings since one burner is on left and the other on the right? Thanks, RAJS

I am in need of an INFINITE SWITCH (SINGLE) and I see it listed as MFG PN 71001166. I had purchased a switch (not from you) which has on it: INF-240TP-1177 240 VAC, 7403P405-60. I was assurred that it was the correct switch and it looks like it from an electrical stand point. The problem is that it only has 2 threaded mounting holes (where the one I am taking out has 4 holes even though only 2 are used) and the holes are 90 degrees off which would make the knob index completely wrong. The question is, does this switch have 4 mounting holes so I can rotate it 90 degrees in any direction so as to get the proper knob index? Regards, Dan

Hi: I have a 5 burner Glass Island Stove Top with the center rear (6") unit not working. The Infinite Switch does NOT feel like the other four and seems to be the problem. I have not taken it apart as yet but have looked at the unit carefully. I believe that I can take the side sheet metal screws off (8 of them ?) and lift the Glass Top off, putting it carefully to the side. Once I do that, are all the five switches mounted in the metal box? Do I simply remove and replace the switch, matching the wiring pattern of the new switch to that of the old one? Thanks. Henry

The infinite switches connected to the knobs turn the elements on but don't seem to give me graduated heat as the knob is turned higher. A couple of the knobs will really only give a very high heat but no simmer or anything in between. Would replacing the switches cure that problem? The elements themselves all work
