What are the 2 isolators that come with the belt kit and where do they go? Thank you Kim
Answer Hello Kim. The motor isolators in the kit goes onto the pins of the motor in the unit. They are used to keep the motor tight and not move.
The belt slipped off my washing machine, I got the belt back on however it keeps slipping off of the large pulley instantly. I'm not sure if there is supposed to be something to hold the belt on the pulley or what but it keeps sliding off! Help!!
Answer Hello Addison,
The things that you will want to check is to make sure that the pully is not loose on the tub. Also check the gromments 22003329 on the motor. If they start wearing they can make the motor rock causing belt to come off pully. You will also want to check inner tub for movement up and down. If the inner tub shifts more than 1/8" then the bearings on the rear tub 22004465 may be failing.
How do you put the belt back on the washer?
Answer Hello Rebecca. You will remove the back access panel and start the belt on the motor pulley. Then slowly roll the belt 12001788 onto the large pulley. These are very tight to install the belt on the machine, but will need to be installed this way. Hope this helps.
My washer is spinning slow in the rinse/spin cycle and sometimes doesn't spin at all, and it isn't draining all the water out my clothes. What could this be? Is it time to replace my belt?
Answer Hello Rita. Check and see if the motor coupling 285753A is broke under the washer. Most Whirlpools use these instead of belts. We will need your model number to help you with this. Please post your model number with a new question on the parts page. Thank you. http://www.appliancepartspros.com/modelnumber_locator.aspx
My washer will start the wash cycle by the door locking shortly after pressing start. The wash cycle will run for approximetly 35 minutes. Once it gets to the Rinse/Spin cycle I can hear the motor working but the tub will not spin and drain. I was told the belt could be the problem. Does this sound correct?
Answer Chris, It's not the belt, and not likely the motor. The first thing to check is the cold water fill hose screens for debris and sediment. The rinse cycle is automatically cold water, A slow cold water fill will interrupt the cycle. Does the washer drain eventually, and does the tub get to a high spin speed at any point ? It could be a spin enable switch or off balance load switch, but the washer has to drain, first. Good Luck and Thanks
when i turn on soap is being flushed in then nothing happens.I put it on spin and water is being pumped out but nothing else happens. no spinning.
Answer Brent, What appears in the display on the control panel ? If you wish, you can access the control panel interior and use the technical data sheet to run the diagnostic codes, board output tests, etc. ( unplug the power cord, remove the three screws across the top back arae of the control console, push backwards on the lower front bottom of the controle console and pull the top of the panel towards you, to disengage the console hidden tabs. The Technical data information should be folded up inside. Good Luck
