My stove knobs are part # KIP 5002. They are cheap plastic knobs and usually break within a few weeks. Is there a more durable replacement knob that is not plastic?

Can this knob be used on my electric top. This is the knob that shows I'm supposed to use but it says for gas valve. Can you supply the part number for which knob I am to use for my electric top? Thanks.

This knob fits my Kitchenaid fan control. The plastic shaft splits and only lasts about 6 months. Is it possible to buy a replacement with a metal shaft?
