I have a Kenmore washer. It has a new lid lock switch. It holds the lid there but there is still some play. Does not pull the lid tight. Could you tell me the problem? Thanks
Answer Hello Anthony,
If the lid lock assembly is properly installed and the hinge screws are tight, there is probably not an issue since the lid lock is not designed to prevent the lid from moving. Its' only purpose is to prevent the lid from being opened.
My washer door will not unlock.
Answer Hello Jamie. Unplug the unit for about 30 minutes and then reapply power and see if the unit unlocks. If not, then either the control board or the lock assembly is bad. If you hear it trying to unlock, but does not, replace the lock assembly. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
OK How do I lift or remove the top body housing to R / R the lock switch assy. for the lid The grey plastic piece that breaks on everyone has broke. Next Question Why has there not a recall ben issued for this problem after all it is safety lock? Please e mail your response. Thank You.
Answer Hello Jim. To install the new latch you will need to raise the main top by releasing the spring clips on both side of the front between the main top and the front panel. You will also need to raise the console which you will use a flat blade on either side under the endcaps to release the spring clip. Lift the console. Disconnect the wiring of the latch and take the screws out of the old latch that are holding it in place. Install the latch in reverse order.
Recent severe cold weather caused water valve body to break. Replaced water valve body and mother board due damage caused by the water. Washer throws F1 error after minute of operation. What is F1 error code. Need help please. Also possible damage to lid lock mechanism.
Answer Hello Robert,
On a MTW6600TQ0, the F-1 fault code flashes when the control detects an out of range pressure signal. • Check pressure hose connection from tub to machine/motor control. Is hose pinched or kinked? • If F then 1 repeats numerous times after POWER is pressed and the pressure hose connection is not pinched or kinked, replace the machine/motor control.
If I unplug my latch electronic mechanism will the washer return to washing mode or will it still go on to not working mode.
Based on this information it sounds like the latch assembly for your unit is faulty and would need a new latch assembly W10059230.
I have ordered a new switch lock assembly. Where on the control top does it fit? When I opened the top, it was already disconnected, and there appears to be two possible slots.
The lid lock for your unit will go at the front center of the main top where the lid would come down and wrap over the front. There should be a opening with a bezel there ad the lock will go in this spot.
