How do I get the light cover off it is a wall oven.
This light cover would just screw off. You may have to get ahold of it with a grip type of rubber pad in order to get it off.
How do I remove the light bulb so it can be replaced?
Answer Hello Orvie,
The bulb cover unscrews to expose the bulb. It will tend to seize from the expansion and contraction of the materials from the operating temperatures in the bake compartment, so it may be necessary to use a rubber bottle opener for grip to get it unscrewed.
The light bulb was working fine, then died, so we suspected that it simply burned out. When we removed the bulb, it appeared burned out, purchased a standard 40 watt appliance bulb, with screw in threads, as pictured on this site. The new bulb doesn't work. So I will purchase another, as this is one I had on hand. My question, is if it still doesn't work, where else could the problem exist?
Answer Hello Rebecca. Make sure the light socket is not damaged. If it is good, then the door switch may be bad.
The light bulb in the refrigerator section flashed and the glass separated from the base. I don't think I can get the base unscrewed without removing the whole light fixture. I tried with needle nose pliers. No luck. How do I remove the fixture?
Answer Hello Mary,
You will need to remove the screws that thread straight up towards the ceiling that retains the control cover. This will lower down to provide access to the light socket. Be very careful with the socket 61001772 since it is no longer available and no satisfactory substitution has been provided by the manufacturer.
How can I remove the light shield to replace the bulb in this unit?
In the middle back part of the cove there is a round piece. you need to lift the round piece and pull toward the back of the unit in order to release from the housing.
Light bulb keeps burning out. Do I need a new unit for the light bulb.
If the light bulbs keep burning out then it would be a good choice to check the voltage to the light socket. If there is over 120 vac then the main pcb would be the issue.
