My washer is not agitating after the installation of a medium cam agitator repair kit. It is making a strange noise during the wash cycle. It does spin; but what is the problem? I thought initially it was the dog bits.
Answer Devonda, did you remove the agitator assembly and check the "splines" in tghe center of the agitator bottom, or plastic "shavings" on the metal agitator shaft. The "dogs" lock the clothes mover3348752 in position and only allows the mover to rotate in one direction. If the splines in the agitator base 3347288 are stripped, the agitator will make noise and not wash or move properly
There is no nut to remove from agitator so the dogs can be replaced.
Answer Hello John. Some models have a plastic nut that requires an 1/2" socket driver to remove the lock nut from the agitator.
Which cam kit do I need for this old estate washer?

During wash cycle sometimes both agitators does not turn . What is the most likely problem ?
Answer Hello Donald,
You may want to check the agitator to see if it has come loose. When you lift the agitator cap there is a screw down in the shaft that holds the agitator 21001878 in place. If the agitator is loose or the screw has come loose it will cause the agitator to rise up and not agitate.
