My dishwasher has a slight water leak. I thought it was a loose outlet fitting but on closer inspection, three of the vibration isolators on the motor mounts are wet and have occasional drips to the floor and ultimately to the basement. Is the motor gasket the likely suspect? If so, are there other parts that need to be replaced at the same time? What is the procedure for this project? Is there a repair manual available? Thanks, Dick
Answer Richard, There are a couple of things to check, if you haven't yet. Make sure there is at least 1/4 inch clearance between the bottom of the motor assembly and the floor. check and tighten the four mounting supports 3367197 so the pump seal tightens and may stop the leak. We could supply a basic service manual from the manufacturer, but We'd need a proper email address, and for your specific model number, you'd need to contact Sears/Kenmore Service and purchase a manual from them. Good Luck and Thanks
Trying to replace motor gasket, but it won't seat. The gasket keeps popping up when I try to press it in place?
Answer Hello Dave. You will need to install the gasket 717000 onto the pump housing first. Then install the pump housing into the main tub. You may need to use a light coat of cooking oil to help you install the gasket. Hope this helps.
How involved is replacing this part? I have water leaking from the tub on top of the motor. I am pretty mechanically minded - but I would rather look at a new machine if this is a full day project. Are there instructions on how to install this part?
Answer Hi Scott. Remove power. This may take up to a couple of hours. But it is really a remove, clean and reassemble Issue. First remove the rack end clips. Remove the racks. Then remove the water manifold. Gather 1-dozen towels or a wet vac. Take off the lower kick plate. Unhook all electrical components connected to the tub. Remove the pump motor off the side of the sump. Remove the drain hose. Lift the sump assembly from the top of the tub . Then clean the tub. Reinstall the sump squarely but firmly. Then clean and hook up all devices taken apart to reconnect. Best of luck. Thank you.
Dishwasher fills with water and drains, but the upper and lower arms will not move, and no water comes out of them.
Answer Hello Carol. You will need to check the impeller 675806. If it is broke or bad, it can cause the problems your having. Hope this helps.
Water from inside dishwasher is leaking onto top of motor. Is this gasket the likely problem? Thanks
Answer Hello John. That part is indeed the seal that goes between the tub, and the circulation pump. This seal is responsible for preventing water from leaking out of the tub. I hope this info helps.
