My front load Whirlpool duet ht, it leaks. It looks to be leaking from underneath close to the front. I know that the rubber seal it was out. Kids doing laundry and packed it full and when the pulled out the cloths/blankets. there was a wire that was out and it held the grey seal in and ever since I has been leaking. Do I need a new seal? and How much would one be?
Answer Hello Andrea. Did you replace the wire that came out? That probably was the clamp that holds the boot gasket in place. If you did it's possible it might not be on tight enough. You might also want to look at the gasket closely to make sure there are no rips or tears in it. The part number for the door gasket is part number 8182119. Hope this helps.

My front loader washer started making a banging noise. My husband took it apart and found that the plastic front tub assembly was all chewed up and the filings were all in the pump assembly. He wants to replace the front tub assembly but I am concerned as to what caused it to happen. Did something else go bad causing the tub to wear apart like that?
Answer Hello Darlene,
This damage was initiated by the spin basket W10269756 "spider" having either a broken arm or the screws have come out. You can verify this by pushing up on the center top of the spin basket. Turn the spin basket 1/3 of a turn and do it again. Turn it 1/3 of a turn and do it one more time. If the spinner support has an issue, one of the three positions you tried will have much more play than the other two positions.
I have been hearing a sqeaking noise in my washer a few weeks ago . Just a couple of days ago i did some towels and it sounded like a loud banging noise it was rubbing up against the drum. I was reading some other questions that we asked and Iwas thinkingit may be the worn bearing? Any help would be appreciated.
This issue would be caused by either a bad spinner assembly or a bad bearing. Normally when the bearing goes out it will have a loud roar to it during the spin cycle. You can open the door of the unit and try to lift up and on the spinner assembly and if the inner drum itself moves up and down independent of the outer tub then the most likely cause would be a broken weld on the spinner.
