My Duet washer sounds like a jet engine on the spin cycle. I can move the tub in and out and it also has some movement up and down. Do I need a rear bearing replacement, or do I need to replace the stainless tub/drum assembly? I do not know if the bearing is replaceable, separately from the drum. Thank you! Dave

Washer sounds like a plane in the spin cycle. Drums not lose nor does it leak... Sounds like bearing... Do you think it s the Rear Drum with Bearing? Item # 1515000 or the Drive Pulley Item # 1154620

Our Kenmore Elite started banging hard and loud at the high speed spin / less noise at med. spin. Unit is 8 yrs old has never seen a repair man. The guy Sears sent over talked to my wife, didn't turn the machine on or look in side. Gave us a repair estimate of $1800. Yep, thats right. And collected his $75.00 dollar fee. We called in another local repairman. His fee was $35.00. He ran the unit ,opened it up. At first he said it was the shocks. When he'd grab the shocks and push up on them the banging would get less. After we told him we would probably buy a new unit,He changed and said it was the outer tub, but he would buy our unit for parts and give us $40.00. What do you think?

My boy ran his leatherman through our machine a couple years ago and it chewed up the flanges when it jammed under the rim. It has worked ok except for small items slipping down to the trap once in a while. All the shocks have benn replaced that fixed the shaking awhile ago.Now there is shaking again and there is play in the inner drum. There is no leaking from the bearing. Will replacing the front half of the hub fix my problem? Replacing the whole outer drum is half the price of a new one and my machine is 13 yrs old.

I have a Whirlpool duet frontloader and with a worn outer hub (hard plastic). It sounds like I will also need an inner hub, but if I am about to move and want to limp along, can I use if it still spins? Or, am I at risk of flood or ruining the whole machine? Thanks
