Hello. We just replaced the door latch assembly - it works great! Now, however, the buttons on the top are not cooperating. If I push any of the was selections nothing happens. If I push start/cancel then the selection of China, Heated Dry, Extra Rinse lights up and it works fine on those selections. But I would like to choose my own options. Since they are both pricey, I was hoping to find out if I needed to replace the touchpad control panel or the control board.
As a bit of back story, we had been living with the broken latch for a while, just making sure to press it closed and not open it mid-cycle. The other night I woke up in the middle of the night to find that the dishwasher was STILL RUNNING hours after it should have stopped. I opened the door to hit cancel to shut it down and it wouldn't stop, so I unplugged it. Once we replaced the latch assembly, it now mostly works, except for the situation explained above. - I appreciate any advice!
Answer Hello WP. Make sure the ribbon cable is not broke or loose on the control panel. Also, clean it and make sure it is dry. If all is good, you will need to replace the control panel 6-919765 on the unit.
Hi! My dishwasher is not working at all. There are 2 lights on the top that light up but its really low light like its dim.
Answer Hello Edgar,
This can only be one of three things. A bad connection, a bad control panel 6-919765, or a bad electronic control board. The electronic control board part number is dependent on the first two numbers of the serial number, (this is used as the series or run number). If the first two serial numbers are 32 or lower, you will need to order 12002710. If the first two numbers are 33 or higher you will need to order W10218826. Considering the complaint, I would guess a bad connection. If this isn't it, my next guess would be the power supply for the panel on the control board. The last thing I would try for a dim display is the display itself.
Remember, if you order a part that isn't needed, as long as you send it back before 365 days have passed, we will refund for the returned part.
Many of the keypad lights failed awhile ago but if I press Start, then Normal Cycle, it usually works. But sometimes it stops before it opens the detergent dish which makes me think that it's running a short or rinse only cycle. If I then unplug it overnight and try again in the morning, it works (the lights still don't work but it runs the entire cycle) and will continue to work for a few more times. If the plug were more convenient, I would simply unplug it after every use. Pulling the plug for just a few minutes does not work, it must be at least 6-10 hours in my emprical testing. This leads me to think that it is not the keypad but rather the controller. BTW the model list shows JDB1250AWR10 but the plate in my dw just has JDB1250AWR. It does has another number 10736581LJ which I figured is the s/n. Anyway let me know what you think. (Thanks for your help/part on my JennAir stove last year, it works great now!)
Answer OldMan, The Control panel/Keypad assembly, 6-919765 is the issue. Depending on the degradation of the circuit board, determines the length of time it takes to "recover". And there's always a possibility of a circuit failure on the cancel pad, that turns the machine off. It's a pretty simple and quick repair. Turn power off to the dishwasher. Remove the inner door panel screws(torx screws) separate the liner from the door panel, Unplug the wiring to the detergent dispenser, remove the screw in the board cover and disconnect the ribbon from the control board. and remove the remaining two screws. Slide the outer door panel up and off the door assembly, Then slide the door insulation down and remove the three 1/4 in. hex head screws from the lower inner door panel and slide the control pnel up and out of the door assembly. Reverse the procedure and check for proper operation. Good Luck and Thanks
I have the new control panel part for my jenn air dishwasher. I have it installed, except for I don't know where the clear strip is suppose to go. The lights do not come on when I push any of the buttons, so I don't know if I have it installed right.
Answer Hello Susy. The clear strip is a ribbon cable which has to wrap back up around and plug into the control board. Not a big issue at all but you will have to open the door panel back up to access it. If the unit has been down for a while and is developing an odor, the unit can be sanitized with dishwasher magic TJ104 Hope this helped!
