I have a problem where just the heavy light and heated dry work. Washes for 2 hrs. I had someone come in and look at it and he believes it is the touch pad. However after reading other questions and answers on line, it seems to me that the problem might be the control panel. I have a bisque or almond color maytag dishwasher. Will control panel be inside?. If it turns out to be touch pad do you have that color. Is this part guaranteed? Thanks

I own this model dishwasher and want to change it's color to a stainless steel look( w/black) to match my new appliances. I want to know if the panel control (AP436315) can easily be removed and the outer plastic area spray painted black or if there are wires and plugs attached, which will make it difficult to do?. Also does the whole door have to be taken apart or can the plastic panel just be removed?. I don't want to remove the panel and take a chance to mess up wires/control etc. if they are attached to this unit. The dishwasher works fine and I don't want to cause a problem.

Only some of the LED lights on the control panel will light when the button is pushed but not all buttons work when pushed. Today the Start and Delay buttons stopped working or at least won't turn the DW on. I am assuming the problem is the control panel itself because the buttons and LED lights have continually stopped working one at time over the past year. What else could my problem be or should I check?

We washed dishes on one day and the next day went to wash more and nothing will light up or anything. Any idea on the problem and how to fix it?

My dishwasher would not come on whatsoever. We checked the breaker, changed out the handle & switches and it still wouldn't start. My husband ran his fingers across the panel and the lights came on. Is that how to activate the machine after a part has been replaced? Or was it just a fluke thing?

I sent you a question yesterday asking whether it was more likely that I need a new control panel or new circuit board. You responded that I should run an automatic service test per the service sheet in the kick panel. First, there is no automatic service test referenced on the service sheet. There is a manual service test and a field service test. Second, both service tests require pushing the "heated dry" key to initiate them. There is no response when I push that key. In fact the only key that responds initially to contact is the "light wash" key. When that key is pushed the lights come on for "light wash", "heated dry", "sanitize", and "tough scrub". Even with the indicator light on it is not possible to get a response from the "heated dry" button. At that point it is possible to get a response from the "delayed wash" button and the "tough scrub" button, but at no time is it possible to get a response from the "start" button. After a few seconds all the lights go off again. Is the problem more likely to be with the control panel or the circuit board?

The dishwasher will not run. I expect that I need either a new touch pad or new circuit board. Some of the lights on the touch pad will come on while others do not. The start button does not respond. I have been able to get the delay indicator to come on, but after a few seconds all the lights go dead. Is it more likely that I need the touch pad or the controller?

My control panel is good but the cover around the control panel is broke above the latch to open the door. Can I buy the cover that goes around the control panel? If so, what is the part number (cover is white)? And how much?

Several of the lights on my dishwasher control panel stopped working about a month ago, but the dishwasher continued to work, two days ago all of the lights and my dishwasher stopped working. Do I need to replace the entire control panel or is there another solution?
