When I push start/cancel button it does not do anything. The other buttons light up what is the Problem
If all lights light up but the unit does not start then it will most likely be a bad control panel.
The only button that seems to work when pushed is the insta wash. All others appear to do nothing. How do I know the control panel is my problem?
Answer Hello Andy. It sounds like the control panel 6-919822 is bad on the unit. There should be a tech sheet behind the toe panel to help you check the ribbon cable. When removed, if you test across J1 pins 9 and 6, press the start button and the contact should close. If not, replace the control panel. Also, make sure the ribbon cable is clean and dry with no moisture. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. do I need to take off the whole back panel on the door to install this part and how hard is it going to be to connect that ribbon?
Answer Hello Alex. The door panel will have to be completely removed to replace the control panel but this isn't a complicated repair. Just remember to discontinue power to the unit before dis-assembly. And to answer your second question, the ribbon cable is easy to disconnect and reconnect. Hope you found this useful!
