F-1 code, do I need to replace the control board? thanks
The F-1 would be a caused by a humidity sensor error. You will want to disconnect the sensor fromt he control board and measure the resistance terminal to terminal (using the R x 1000 resistance scale on the meter). The resistance that you should read normally is as follows: Black to red 5.2K ohms, red to white 2.1 Kohms and from black to white 2.1 Kohms. Abnormal reading would be an infinite or several. Sensor cooking condition: the oven should be plugged in at least 5 minutes before using sensor cooking. The room temp should not exceed 95 degrees. Be sure the exterior of the cooking container and interior of the oven are dry. The oven will not generate microwave energy for the first 28 seconds of the sensor cooking cycle. The part number for the sensor is 8184814
Microwave is almost in new condition. But from time to time it locks up. When it does the keys on the control panel do nothing. If I un plug it and repower it clears the problem. Is this a problem with the control panel or is this a bigger problem.
Answer Hello Rick,
This would be a problem with the keypad on the control panel. You will want to check to make sure that you have a good connection of the ribbon cable to the control board. If the connection is good then you would want to replace the control panel 8205816.
My microwave is broke with an error f-1 shown in the control panel. Will replacing that with this part (ap3859379) solve the problem? Or should I go with ap4326022 ? Appreciate your help. Thanks.
Answer Hi Venky. Are you sure it is a F-1 code? We cannot verify per wiring diagram of the code. They do show the F-2 code a keypad issue. Part # 8205816. The F-1 code in ovens do consist of a console/keypad failure. Thank You.
