Bake and oven light do not work, do I need the control panel replaced?

Answer Hello Ed, You will want to check to see if you are getting power to the light and bake element. If you check for voltage on the control board from connector p15 pin 2 to connector P2 pin 3 you should have 120vac. If you do not then you have a bad control. If you do then check bulb. Also check from connector P4 from bake to L1 pins 1 to 4 for 240 vac. If not correct voltage replace control board if correct then check wiring and element. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. I have replaced the entire control panel and guts once already on my Maytag and now, it has broken again in less than two years. The push buttons stopped working on the panel after I self cleaned the oven ... just wondering if I am doing something wrong??? or what keeps causing this??? One repair person told me to self clean it only in winter as unit gets to hot in summer--I use it very little,maybe twice per week -- just wondering what keeps causing this. Thank you- your info has been great on ordering the correct part to repair.

Answer Hello Valerie. Based on the information you provided, you will need to replace the control panel in the unit. Also, make sure you are not using cleaner on the control panel. It can damage the panel. When cleaning the outside of the unit. Use a damp soapy cloth to clean and then wipe off with a damp cloth.

The door is locked close. Unplug power to try to reset, but it did not work.

Hi. Only 2 buttons work on my touch panel, cancel and 1 other, unable to set the clock or anything else. I have turned off the power hoping to re set it but still not working, is this a faulty touch pad or the printed circuit board which the ribon cable plugs into? Thanks Alan.

It will not regulate temperature correctly, what are probable causes?. Does the temperature probe come seperate or is it included with control panel part # ap4425938? If seperate, what is part number? Thanks

Answer Hello Bruce. 12001656 is the temperature sensor. You should read 1650 ohms at 350°. If it is off by 100 ohms, replace the sensor. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Thank you for your responce, how ever I removed the 6 screws holding the panel and removed trim I can not remove panel it will not move at all, I must be missing something, I pulled from bottom wile lifting up and I hate to pry on it. Any Ideas? Again thank you for your help.

Answer Hello Thomas. Here is what you will need to do. 1. Turn off power to unit. 2. Remove screws securing trim piece(s) to the cabinet. 3. Slide unit out of cutout approximately 6 to 8 inches. 4. Remove screws securing control panel assembly to unit chassis. 5. Label and disconnect wire terminal plugs from control board assembly. 6. Place control panel assembly on a protected surface. 7. Reverse procedure to reassemble. Hope this helps.

The Bake and Oven Light do not work, everything else works. How do you take Control Panel off? And do I need a hole new panel?

Answer Hello Thomas. You will need to remove the screws holding the panel in place to remove the panel. Once removed, disconnect the ribbon cable going to the control board, and remove the screws from the control board. You will need to replace the whole panel. Hope this helps.

Bake button works, broil doesn't. Clock and oven light along with the 1,2,3,7,8,0 don't work. I'm assuming it is the outer panel and not the inner electrical panel. Will this part fix the problem?

The bake and Broil does not work. All other touch buttons work and make a sound when touched. The bake and broil do not. Is this a bad control panel? If so how do you remove it as it appears to be glued to the door.

Answer The whole panel will remove from the oven. You will need to remove the screws under the panel and pull the bottom toward you and lift off. The new panel should fix your problem.
