I've been having a problem with my freezer where it's not cold enough, causing the ice and its contents to melt. I found that I need to turn off the freezer thermostat for it to work again. I've done this several times already. Can you tell me what the problem is?

Area around refer and Freezer doors is hot to the touch. Really hot. Heat extends in from the openings. Is this a problem with the control board? Users manual says if this area is hot call for repair. I live in a remote area and that is almost impossible. Can I pull a wire from the board and open the heater circuit? If so which one?
