I'm having trouble with the speed settings on my mixer it wants to start out on 3 and then you can go faster, but when I have the cover off and I hold tension on the plate that the lever arm runs through it works just fine, it's like there needs to be a spring tensioner on it. All I have to do is barely push on the bottom screw and it works? To me that screw really has no purpose. thanks for your time

When I move the speed lever, the motor stops and goes as the lever is moved. It acts like not making full contact. I thought about replacing the control plate. The motor only runs for a split second at any speed with the speed lever. Your imput would be appreciated.

The mixer sometimes won't change speeds above 6, then will turn off when brought back down to 6. The plate control is cracked around the bottom screw. Could this be the problem? Thanks!

I can't get the mixer to stay in the "off" position. When I push the speed control to "off" it stops, but as soon as I remove pressure from the speed control, the mixer starts running at the lowest speed. What part do I need to replace?

My KSM5 mixer does not operate at all. I can get 110 volts to the control plate. If the mixer is turned on to any of the speeds I can measure 110 volts coming out of the control plate white wire, lower left hand side, I believe that this wire goes to the field assembly. I can read no voltage anywhere else, there does not seem to be any ower going into the control board. With the switch turned on should I be reading voltage coming back to the control plate middle red wire? Is the field assmebly bad? How do I test for this? Which wire on the control board is the power leading into the control board? Thank you for yor help!!
