What motor pulley will fit a Crosley CDE6500W? How is it replaced?
The pulley part number for your unit is 31001535. To access the motor to remove the pulley, you will first need to lift the main top by pushing in on 2 spring clips between the main top and the front panel. This will allow you to be able to lift the main top. Once the main top is up there will be a couple of screws that hold the front panel in place. Remove the front panel and make sure power is disconnected from the unit. WIth the font panel off release the belt from the pulley paying close attention to how it is installed. Take the front bulkhead off and remove the drum. Once turn is out to remove the pulley you will need a cresent wrench and a pair of vice grips. Using the vice grips get ahold of the shaft of the motor behind the pulley and use the cresent wrench to loosen the pulley. Reinstall in reverse.
Looking at the part it shows hex on each end-mine shows bell on the motor side. Will this still work on my dryer.Part # 31001535
Based on the model number of the unit, there is not a motor pulley available separately for your unit. You would need to replace the motor on your unit in order to replace the pulley. The motor part number is 2200376.
Having trouble removing the motor pulley. it broke off on the end and i am turning the rest of it but it just spins. Any suggestions how to get this thing off?
If you are not grabbing the motor shaft and then turning the pulley then it will not come off and just spin. You will want to grip the motor shaft to hold it still. If the pulley is spinning on the shaft then then you will need to break off the rest of the pulley and check the threading on the motor to see if it is damage. If damaged then the motor would need to be replaced.
Our motor drive pulley for the belt drive broke. Is the one pictured for the 60 hz motor a universal fit?
Answer Cyle, motor pulley part number 31001535 is the original pulley used on your model ADE7000AYW and will fit your appliance. Thanks!
Does your motor pulley use left hand threads ? for install / removal
To remove the motor pulley you would turn to the left. It is left to loosen right to tighten.
Does this part have left-handed threads? My motor does. Motor Pully # AP4038987. If it does, I'll order it.
We do not have specs on whether threading is left or right hand. This pulley does not show as being for your unit and that your unit to replace pulley you would have to replace the motor.
